Use These 4 ‘S’s To Say No To People Without Offending Them
Saying 'yes' is a habit that we all are taught to follow since our childhood. In India especially, the children are gazed at with angry eyes if they say 'no' to anything, be it eating something or helping Some one Out However, when we grow up, we all learn the harsh reality of life that it's not a bed of roses and prioritizing is needed every now and then. The habit of saying 'no' to others is required more so when we are in the professional world. Here are some ways in which you can say no to people without offending them.

1. Say Sorry
Sorry is probably the best word in English dictionary. All you have to do is to make an apologetic face and say the golden word. You are also not lying, so no need to feel bad. Just admit it that you are sorry that he or she would be deprived of your help.

2. Suggest
This is very easy, just smile and say 'no', while suggesting to that person someone who can help them instead. In your professional journey, you are also going to need to be a bit stern, but your colleagues would understand that you are busy. By suggesting the name of someone who could actually help them, you won't even come across as rude.

3. Simplify
Let's suppose your friend asked you for money but you don't lend money to friends. What would you do? Simplify the problem and tell them the rule. This would not only make you come across as a genuine person but would also make the person assure that you consider them a friend and value the relationship.

4. Satisfy
Everyone would agree that past experiences pave way for your future endeavors. In order to satisfy someone who is wondering why you are not helping them, recount an experience when you helped someone but suffered because of it. An honest tale from your past would satisfy them.
